Country music legend George Strait is receiving another Texas honor after Austin’s Moody Center dedicated a backstage artist lounge in his honor.
The venue recently unveiled “The Troubadour,” a backstage space inspired by Strait’s legendary career and longtime connection to Texas country music.
According to reports, the lounge features classic Texas honky-tonk touches including a vintage jukebox loaded with Strait songs, roadhouse-style décor and even bronze boot prints embedded into the floor.
The tribute comes as Strait wraps up another series of sold-out shows at Moody Center, where he has become one of the venue’s signature artists since helping open the arena with Willie Nelson and the Randy Rogers Band in 2022.
Pollstar reported the room was designed as a permanent tribute to the “King of Country” and named after Strait’s iconic Troubadour era.
We’re following reporting from Trigger and the crew over at Saving Country Music on this.
Despite a retirement from full-time touring, Strait recently added additional 2026 Moody Center dates due to overwhelming demand, once again showing the unmatched drawing power of one of country music’s most enduring stars.
